Lilypad Silicone Lids

Alright, so this blog is usually recipes and other direct cooking how-to's.  However, this is seriously the neatest kitchen "doohicky" I have ever come across, so I am making an exception.

It's a universal lid. You just plop it onto any smooth-rimmed container (bowl, pot, etc.) and it forms an airtight seal; as in, you can pick the bowl up with it. No screwing, pressing, or struggling, just set it down. And all it takes to break the seal is lift it up from the side. Again, no struggling, it's as easy as picking up a piece of paper from the table.

I cannot overstate how cool it is... I sat and giggled like a two-year old playing with it for like ten minutes, dropping it from a height onto a bowl then picking the bowl up with the lid and bouncing it up and down, then flicking it off with one finger.

"But wait, there's more!"

It's high-temperature silicone. You can use it on pots on the stove! No more searching for the right lid while grease is splattering your kitchen! And it's dishwasher and microwave safe, too. Store your leftovers, then with no mess and no fuss move it to reheat in the microwave, on the stovetop, or even the oven.

I am absolutely getting more of these. There are even different designs! And a variety of sizes, too.
